尽管螺杆处于旋转状态，但密闭腔中的液体并不发生搅拌或涡流，只以低速沿主杆轴向平移，因此三螺杆泵具有优异的吸入性能。
主杆完全处于液压平衡状态，从杆由液压驱动。主、从杆之间在正常运行工况下不接触。由于油膜的存在，螺杆螺旋面不会产生磨损，使得三螺杆泵具有很长的使用寿命。需要说明的是，当开泵、停泵时，泵内主、从杆处于边界状态，瞬间会发生直接接触，螺杆强度、表面硬度、加工精度必须能够抵抗这种边界状态工况。另外，从杆要承受一定的径向力，这是理论决定的。只有在螺杆、衬套、材料选用与使用压力的适用性方面合理匹配，才能保证从杆外圆与衬套内孔之间的油膜不发生破损，从而避免金属接触而磨损。对于润滑油输送泵，我公司有成熟的技术和可靠的工艺手段避免以上事故的发生。
工作原理、结构、特性
三螺杆泵属于回转式容积式泵，其泵送原理为：一个泵体（或三孔衬套）和对称平行布置的三根相互啮合的螺杆精确配合形成连续的相互隔离的密闭腔，当主杆转动时，流体被吸入到密闭腔中，随着主杆转动密闭腔连续、均匀地沿轴向移动，从而带动流体由泵进口腔排送至出口腔，实现泵送升压过程。
三螺杆泵适用于输送各类不含磨蚀性杂质且对泵内零件不发生化学侵蚀的润滑性液体。例如：润滑油，矿物油，合成液压油和天然油，其它比较特殊的润滑性介质如轻质燃油，重质燃油，煤焦油，高温沥青，粘胶液，乳化液等也可使用三螺杆泵进行输送。此时，务必参阅相应的产品样本，进行正确选型和使用。
